T.A.I . (Talk About It)
Here at Shuler Homes, we believe healing starts with conversation and that’s the heart behind Shuler T.A.I (Talk About It)
T.A.I is our trauma informed care program designed specifically for youth who have experienced emotional, physical, or psychological trauma. This approach recognizes how deeply trauma can affect a young person’s behavior, relationships and self-worth and provides meaningful, individualized support to help them heal and grow.
Our team is specially trained in trauma-informed practices, allowing us to respond with understanding, empathy, and professional care. Through open communication, consistent support, and proven interventions, T.A.I. helps each individual process their experiences and begin building the strong, stable foundation that they deserve.
“At Shuler Homes we don’t just talk about it. We listen, we understand and we help them rise with resilience”

“Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself, Be proud of every step you take towards reaching that goal,”
Discharge Plan
At Shuler Homes our commitment to each resident extends beyond their time in our care.
We believe that a succesful transition into independent living is a critical part of a young persons growth and healing journey. Our sucessful Discharge Plan is designed to ensure that every resident leaves our program equippedwith the tools, confidence, and support they need to thrive in the next chapter of their lives.
As part of our transitional living model, residents participate in our Independent Living Skills Training Program, which provides a structured one-to-two-year period for youth to stabilize their lives, complete their education, and develop the essential skills needed to live independently and responsibly. These skills include, but are not limited to:
- Financial literacy and budgeting
- Job readiness and employment training
- Cooking, cleaning, and household management
- Time management and goal-setting
- Communication and self advocacy
- Navigating healthcare and community resources
Residents enrolled in our Housing Workshop Program will recieve individualized housing planning to help secure long-term stability.
Upon successful completion of the program, individuals may:
- Transition into permanent housing
- Enter supportive transitional housing
- Receive housing retention support to remain stably housed
Our ultimate goal is for the majority of residents to secure safe, stable, and permanent housing by the time they are discharged from the program.
We understand that the path to independence doesn’t end at discharge.
Therefore, Shuler Homes offers continued support through our Post Discharge Follow-Up Initiative. Residents who complete the program with good standing and positive behavior are elgible to receive monthly check- in calls from their assigned counselor for up to 6 months following discharge. These supportive and encouraging calls provide continued emotional guidance, resource navigation, and a reminder that they are never alone on their journey.
“At Shuler Homes Inc., we walk beside our residents every step of the way, from crisis to confidence, and from housing instability to independence”
“Their success is our mission and their future is our purpose”
(Meet The CEO)
Hello my name is Marshay Shuler, and I am the CEO and founder of Shuler Homes Inc.
My decision to establish a grouphome for adolescence is deeply rooted in my own lived experiences within group homes and residential treatment facilities. I know what it feels like firsthand to grow up lacking support, guidance, and emotional care. But through that adversity, I found motivation to create something different-something meaningful. I can’t rewrite my past, but I can help rewrite someone else’s future.
There was a time in my life when pain and anger led me to believe the world owed me everything. I struggled with fears of abandoment, rejection and emptiness. It was easy to turn my life around, I battled through challenges that at times felt unbearable. But with perserverance, resilence, and determination, I learned that healing began within.
Over time, I gain clarity, rebuilt my mindset and began to transform. I became courageous in the face of adversity, optimistic about what as possible, and dedicated to creating a life filled with stability and purpose.
My journey taught me that no one is truly alone and that even the most broken pieces can be put back together with faith, fidelity and goals.
Today, I stand not only as a leader but as living proof taht with persistence and the right support, change is possible. At Shuler Homes, I am committed to giving individuals the experience I once needed: love, structure, healing, and the tools to rise into their full potential.
“We believe every new beginning holds the power to heal and grow. What you’ve read is just a prologue. The real story begins when we walk this path together.”
